SUMMER THOUGHTS

Branches comb the clouds
And sweep them into blue.
Blue summer skies.
What shall we do?
Will the season be
Our last eventually?
Blue, blue, blue.
Where does the sky go to?
Trees thrust their leaves,
Birds dive through;
Dive in the heavens,
Blue, blue, blue

Shining the clouds
Give no clue.
How long will we remain?
We wish we knew.
Earth dry as dust.
Grass yellow from the sun.
We live because we trust
As the seasons run.
And the Summer days
Stretch calm and warm.
The world wrapped in
a haze
As if before a storm.
