TREATED

She let go of the sunset,
Once iridescent red
To feel the pain diminish
And be normal instead.
How flat the days are
Now she’s on one level.
No longer an angel
Who can sacrifice the devil.

Extremes of mood
Are part of this condition.
Can she join the crowd now?
Does she have permission?
Pills to make life smooth
Are constantly supplied.
She feels gratitude
But a spark in her has died.

The beauty of the sunset
Shining through black trees.
Now it is removed
She is not part of these.
Separate from the hours
Of which she was a part.
The day moves slowly on
And brushes by her heart.

  1. You could certainly see your skills within the work you write. The arena hopes for more passionate writers like you who are not afraid to say how they believe. Always follow your heart.
