TREVEAL

Black, the jagged rocks
Emerging,
Lapped on by the evening sea.
White foamed, crashing,
Waves are surging.
Gulls are calling plaintively.

Emerald grass, grey stones,
Bright flowers
Edge the narrow cliff sideway.
Here were spent some
Childhood hours
Watching seals sunbathe and play.

Now adults you three together
With the view of sea and sky
Sisters, brother, sunny weather,
Celebrate long years gone by.

For the three of you returning
To the pathways of your youth.
Still a love for Cornwall burning.
Nature beats her song as proof.

Black, the jagged rocks emerging
Lapped on by the evening sea.
White foamed, crashing waves
are surging.
Gulls are calling plaintively.

John with his sisters, Alison and Margaret
meeting in Cornwall for a birthday picnic.
