CAST THE LAST STONE

“She’s gone downhill
since leaving the church.
I heard her husband
left her in the lurch.
You’ll never guess where
I saw her going.
It’s not surprising with
all that owing.

The pawnshop, I tell you
Yes! It’s true!
And I’ve hear the landlord
is going to sue.
She’s dyed those old
shoes brilliant yellow
And on her arm was
another fellow!

He’s not a Christian
That’s all I’ll say
I shouldn’t think he
knows how to pray.
There’s no accounting
for some people’s taste
And all those sermons
gone to waste!”
